Are you an international student studying in Australia? Brace yourself for changes in work restrictions starting from 1st July 2023. As the country gradually recovers from the pandemic, the Australian government has decided to reintroduce work limitations for student visa holders.
During the pandemic, students enjoyed a temporary relaxation of work restrictions, allowing them to work beyond the normal limit of 40 hours per fortnight. However, this flexibility will come to an end on 30th June 2023.
Beginning 1st July 2023, the revised work limit for student visa holders will be capped at 48 hours per fortnight. While this may present certain challenges, it aims to strike a balance between academic commitments and employment opportunities.
To stay up-to-date with the latest information, we urge all students to visit the Department of Home Affairs website, which provides comprehensive details on the current student visa conditions. It is essential for students to understand and comply with the new work restrictions to avoid any potential visa issues.
We understand that work experience is crucial for many students, both for financial reasons and to gain valuable skills. Therefore, we encourage you to plan your work schedules effectively, ensuring you adhere to the new regulations while maximizing your opportunities.
